    The Health and Safety Authority (HSA) has developed this course with the support of the Health and Safety Executive Northern Ireland (HSE NI). The course is an introduction to tractor safety, and highlights the important safety considerations around working with tractors and farm machinery.

  • Farm Safely with Slurry

    Tractor slurry

    This short course will help farmers to plan and prepare for slurry spreading. It provides an opportunity for farmers to increase their awareness of the dangers associated with slurry and how to prevent accidents occurring to themselves and to others.

    Course duration: 30 minutes

    On successful completion of this course you should be able to:

    • identify the best times and conditions for spreading slurry.
    • recognise the need to plan ahead and make appropriate preparations to work safely.
    • recognise the dangers associated with slurry.
    • implement the appropriate control measures to prevent accidents when working with slurry.

  • Health and Safety for Seasonal Workers in Horticulture

    This online course is suitable for seasonal workers, students, and anybody working in horticulture on a part-time or full-time basis. It is also a useful refresher course for seasonal workers who may be returning to work in Ireland after a break. Translated versions of the course will also be available.
