The Health and Safety Authority has a wide and varied mandate which includes acting as the national body with responsibility for protecting all workers nationwide from work-related incidents, injuries and ill health. The Authority acts as the national accreditation body for Ireland through INAB.

Grade II Inspector – Regulatory Toxicologist (Human Health)
The successful candidate will be part of a multidisciplinary team evaluating and developing scientific and technical opinions on chemical substances. The successful candidate will undertake Competent Authority regulatory functions at both national and EU levels.
This role will involve working in the area of hazard assessment under our regulatory mandate for Chemicals, in particular our competent authority activities under the EU Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) and Classification, Labelling and Packaging (CLP) Regulations. The role involves the identification of concerns for human health based on assessing the intrinsic properties of chemical substances, the evaluation of data from specific testing regimes in addition to public peer reviewed scientific literature, and the preparation of scientific reports, presentations and opinions in support of various regulatory actions under REACH and CLP.
Incremental salary scale: €72,511 - €88,429
