DNAs in Ireland

In Ireland, responsibility for the PIC Regulation is shared by Authority and the Pesticide Registration and Controls Divisions of the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine.

The Authority is the designated national authority (DNA) for chemicals listed in the PIC Regulation with industrial uses. DAFM is the DNA for chemicals listed in the PIC Regulation with pesticidal or biocidal uses.

At EU level, PIC is the responsibility of DG Environment in the EU Commission, while day-to-day management of the PIC IT application (ePIC) is the responsibility of the European Chemicals Agency.
