The Behavioural Health and Safety Team at the Health and Safety Authority invites hosted a free webinar aimed at helping organisations enhance the quality and effectiveness of risk assessments for psychosocial hazards and human factors.

This session covers workplace bullying, violence and aggression, and human factors. The focus is on ensuring that control measures are meaningful and reflect real workplace conditions. Our Guest speakers from both public and private sectors share practical experience of their organisations' risk assessments and how they implemented their controls to proactively manage psychosocial hazards in the workplace.

Design Work for People: Ergonomics and Human Factors Webinar

Good work design fits the task to the human. This helps to prevent injury and ill health, minimises fatigue and lowers the risk of errors and accidents. Code of Practice Safe Use of Industrial Trucks - Webinar for Employers

Thursday 11th December, 11am

The Health and Safety Authority has published a new Code of Practice entitled Code of Practice: Safe Use of Industrial Trucks. This Code of Practice came into operation on 24 September 2025. From that date, it replaces the 2001 Code of Practice Rider-operated lift trucks: operator training.

The new Code of Practice provides practical guidance on complying with the provisions of the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 with regards to the use of industrial trucks in workplaces. It provides a framework for managing the risks associated with industrial trucks. It sets out the basic roles and responsibilities of those who have duties for ensuring the safe operation of industrial trucks and the training of industrial truck operators.

The aim of this webinar is to inform employers, supervisors, managers  and those in control of places of work where rider operated industrial trucks are used of the principles laid down for the safe use of industrial trucks. It will be delivered by senior Inspectors from the Transport and Storage Unit of the HSA.

Optimising Performance, Minimising Error: The Role of Human Factors in Workplace Safety Webinar

Addressing Human Factors is key to effective health and safety management. It’s about optimising human performance and minimising the risk of human error. New CLP Hazard Classes Webinar 2025

March 6th, 11am

The EU Classification, Packaging and Labelling Regulation (CLP) now includes new hazard classes for: endocrine disruption (ED) for human health and the environment, persistent, bioaccumulative and toxic (PBT) or very persistent, very bioaccumulative (vP/vB) and persistent, mobile and toxic (PMT) or very persistent, very mobile (vP/vM).

The updated Regulation entered into force in April 2023, and while a transitional period applies, companies with obligations to classify and label chemicals they place on the market need to be aware of these new hazard classes and be prepared to start applying them, where they are relevant.

The aim of this webinar is to inform duty holders of the new hazard classes and will be delivered by experts from the Chemicals and Industrial Products division of the HSA.

Ergonomics in the Irish Workplace: Risk Assessment to Manage Risk Exposure
