Who has to Notify the HSA in Relation to Construction Projects?
Construction has a very significant accident rate, research indicates that a lot of the risk can be designed out prior to the commencement of the activity. The Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2006 (S.I. No. 504 of 2006) place duties on the Client, Project Supervisor for the Design Process. and Project Supervisor Construction Stage including requirements to notify the Authority as detailed below.
When does the Client Have to Notify?
It is duty of the Client to notify the Authority of the appointment of the PSDP where construction is likely to take more than 500 persons days or 30 working days. Notification is available through submission of the AF1 Form.
When does the Project Supervisor for the Design Process Have to Notify?
It is duty of the Project Supervisor for the Design Process to notify the Authority and the client of non-compliance with any written directions issued. There is no approved form for this but notification should be in writing.
When does the Project Supervisor Construction Stage Have to Notify?
It is the duty of the Project Supervisor Construction Stage to notify the Authority before construction commences where construction is likely to take more than 500 person days or 30 working days. Notification is on line by registering with the service by clicking on the button below or through submission of the AF2 Form.
