Code of Practice: Safe Use of Industrial Trucks Webinar for Employers

Code of Practice Safe Use of Industrial Trucks - Webinar for Employers

Thursday 11th December, 11am

The Health and Safety Authority has published a new Code of Practice entitled Code of Practice: Safe Use of Industrial Trucks. This Code of Practice came into operation on 24 September 2025. From that date, it replaces the 2001 Code of Practice Rider-operated lift trucks: operator training.

The new Code of Practice provides practical guidance on complying with the provisions of the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 with regards to the use of industrial trucks in workplaces. It provides a framework for managing the risks associated with industrial trucks. It sets out the basic roles and responsibilities of those who have duties for ensuring the safe operation of industrial trucks and the training of industrial truck operators.

The aim of this webinar is to inform employers, supervisors, managers  and those in control of places of work where rider operated industrial trucks are used of the principles laid down for the safe use of industrial trucks. It will be delivered by senior Inspectors from the Transport and Storage Unit of the HSA.
