Statutory Notifications

Under Regulation 8 of Safety, Health, & Welfare at Work (Quarries) Regulations 2025 Notification must be sent to the Health and Safety Authority within 14 days of:

• the appointment of an operator (including a change in the name of the appointed operator or quarry) (approved Form AFQ1sent by operator);
• the commencement of quarry operations (such operations to include putting in roads, clearing topsoil, or building offices or workshops) (approved Form AFQ1sent by operator);

or

• the permanent cessation or temporary cessation of quarry operations (approved Form AFQ2 sent by operator) (for the purpose of these Regulations, temporary cessation is greater than 6 months with a view to reopen at a future date).
